RE: [APML] Help! new scanner analysis rainbow streamers
Thanks to Chris and Herm,
Thanks for the HP comparison. I am calling Calumet today. I ran another
test with a piece of aluminum foil on a slide holder with pinholes in it.
This was a recommendation from a fella who owns a digital lab. The
reflections were duplicated exactly as the astro slides. Looks to be a
problem inherent in the design. Will let you know if I find a remedy.
Thanks for the help.

I have seen more pronounced ones made by an HP Photosmart film scanner.. it
think its due to the mirrors used inside the scanner.. I have an example on
my web site:

I would find out if this is a common problem (an inherent design flaw,
unfixable) or just needs a trip to the factory. Perhaps is just tobacco
smoke residue on the lenses/mirrors.
Do you know if the Dimage uses lenses or mirrors?, my Acer does not.
