Its not just the high tech industries that have been whacked and affecting
our night-time hobby. I have made my (fairly good) living for the past 30
years in the decidedly un-hitech field of heavy truck repair (18-wheelers)
specializing in Allison automatic transmissions and Detroit Deisel deisel
engines. But my paycheck for the past year can be best described as
desperate to the point where I am abandoning the field after completing
night school to enter another career field. Those of you can still afford
the pricy astrophoto toys today should pat yourselves on the back for making
some prudent fiscal and career choices before the advent of the present day
financial meltdown.
