I agree - half with you. :) 9-11 did and has affected business
a great deal, and not just astronomical equipment, everything accross the
board is feeling the effect. But as others have pointed out, the
"dominoes" in the economy were in place already, 9-11 was just the event
that tipped the first one over. Perhaps Lumicon got caught up in the fall
like so many other companies.
But the innovation part I agree completely. Look at the new (or
"newer") IDAS filter. That is a product that Lumicon should of came out
with. Or look at tri-colour CCD imaging - perhaps Lumicon could of
explored that area, the need for CCD filters of various types. Even in
film hypering, could techniques have been improved, or new hypering related
products been explored? Maybe a "quickload" film chamber? :) Who
knows......
