I think a Celestron 8" should be worth in the $1500-$2000 range depending
on condition and focus. I base this on the fact that I recently saw one sold
for about $1900. If the camera is not in focus, I would not be willing to
pay much for it. It also depends on the availabiliity of a buyer at the
right time you plan to sell. A version with the Epoch upgrade should be
closer to $3000. At least this is my opinion.
The 8" Schmidt is unique for two things, widefield with Tech Pan (B&W or
tricolor) and comet photography. The use of Tech Pan makes this camera an
exceptional widefield high resolution instrument.
