    There are many other advantages. I shoot tech pan using RGB filters in a
Schmidt camera. RegiStar is the only civilized way to re-combine them into a
colour image. For fainter objects at prime focus, stacking a tech pan image
with a colour image yields huge increases in detail and contrast, and a big
reduction in grain. You can also stack images taken with different
scopes/focal lengths if needed.
