Re: [APML] Petzval hot spot?
I have a TV101 and if anyone is interested can put up some 35 mm film
images when I get home tonight that definitely show a hot spot.
A friend suggested the hot spot might be more apparent for slightly out
of focus cases, so I assumed things would get better when I improve my
focus.
The uneven illumination is not a major pain, but it is definitely
noticeable.
Perhaps when people spend that much on a scope, they don't want to dwell
on its "shortcomings".

how did Uncle Al solve the problem?
He didn't. Unc Al cannot sidestep the laws of physics - especially the
one where light travels in straight lines. The fact that nobody has said
anything about this shows you how much people notice things.
