Re: [APML] Problem with scan and TIFs

Monte,

Photoshop 5.0LE does support 48 bit files (this includes everything between
24 and 48 also which gets written as 48), and it does support LZW
compressed TIFF files.

Photoshop 7 offers some new advanced options for saving TIFF files, so it
is possible that it could be something there if they used PS7, but I tried
those while saving a file in PS7 and it opened in PS 5.0LE ok also, so I
don't know.

I don't think it's a Mac vs PC TIFF file issue since I open Mac TIFFs on my
PC all the time, but who knows. If you can open them in QuickTime, can you
save them then in QuickTime with a new file name, or does QuickTime only
allow viewing? Maybe that would let you get at the data.

The other thing I would suggest is downloading IrfanView, a freeware
program that I highly recommend. It supports a ton of different file
formats and if you can open it in there, you will definitely be able to
resave it with a different name. I've used this program to save files that
wouldn't open in Photohsop.
