Hi Rick,
I think you will be okay as long as you buy one of the more premium wedges such as the mettler or the one made by Randy Marsden (which I reccomend you look at first). I have the Meade super wedge supporting my 12" LX200 with just a piggyback setup and it isn't sturdy enough. I don't have the link right now to Randy's site, but if you are interested, let me know and I'll find it for you.
