Re: [APML] New M31

My originals had good color to begin with to that helped a lot.  They were slightly green/cyan but once I set the dark point and did color correction using curves to increase the red in the brighter portions of the image the color got much better.  I then just increased the color saturation a bit and that brought out the nice color contrast.  The hardest part was deciding how much was too much.

Nice colours, Daniel

I would like to know the technique you use to colour differently the arms of the spiral and the bulge. I'd like to apply it to my very modest picture of M31 I shot last July.

thanks!

I've posted a new shot taken last weekend at Mount Pinos of M31.  This shot could probably use a little more work and I might end up including more of the orginal (the posted one is cropped significantly).  The originals have very nice color.  I didn't have to do very explicit color correction on the image, just the basics.  Comments?
