Many would say yes. The moveable mirror can lead to
poor images. You can be guiding just fine through a
guidescope, meanwhile, the SCT's mirror is adjusting
itself as the OTA slowly moves across the sky. Given
this, many prefer to use the same optics for guiding
i.e. off-axis. But, you never know 'til you try. With
a good lock down system (such as Chris Vedeler's in
the MAPUG archives, or Doc G's site) you might be able
to pull it off.
