Re: [APML] Framing shots - was New North American Nebula



Losmandy built an expensive mount (GM200) for large telescopes like the C-14
that had no manual setting circles.  It used digital setting circles that
were extremely inaccurate (+/- 5 degrees), making the mount nearly useless
for those (like me) who are not able to find objects without setting
circles.

For framing an object I use the star pattern as a guide and do not rely on
digital or manual setting circles.
