Robert:
1.    Yes, personal preference. I used the colors for this image as they
came out of the scanner with no adjustments. I may tweak them in the future,
given time.
2.    I just got this 200mm lens last week. First thing I did with it was
some test exposures from wide open to f/16. I got better star images at f/8
than at f/5.6, although there wasn't a whole lot of difference. I'll
probably play with images at both settings until I decide which f-stop I'm
happiest with. Yes, I can certainly stay with f/8 and expose longer, but at
the expense of less time for more images and perhaps more reciprocity
failure as well. So I may well end up at f/5.6 as you suggest, even if the
star images are not quite as sharp.
3.    Oops (he said red-faced). I've fixed the name of the nebula on my web
site.

Thanks for the comments and encouragement. I feel I'm still a newbie, but
I've finally gotten over the hump where I'm now starting to turn out a few
decent images now and then.
