[APML] drift alignment question

In doing drift alignment if you verify no drift in your eyepiece for a span
of say 10 minutes, do you tweak the Az or El of the mount, and then hunt up
another star near your initial starting angle.
Seems like if you dont, after  2 or 3 tweaks, you're be a long way from
your initial starting angle.

Or is this just not all that critical?
