Re: [APML] Mitsuboshi KEF and Astro-Physics

I have the Mitsuboshi knife edge focuser. Its tremendous!!!! The invention of a circular knife edge that clamps on securely and is aluminized on glass takes the hardness out of knife edge focusing. Its easy to use. Before having it, knife edge focusing was pure hell.

You can calibrate it for any camera with a depth gauge. I bought a cheap depth gauge at a chinese tool store and calibrated mine to a fraction of a thousands of an inch.

This is a wonderful device. Its the best money I ever spent in the astrophotography hobby.

Mike I just used one for the first time on my Takahashi E160 It's an f/3.3 and it nailed the focus perfectly! That's pretty hard to achieve at f/3.3!Jim Ives

Subject: [APML] Mitsuboshi KEF and Astro-Physics
Hi all, Is anybody out there using a Mitsuboshi KEF with a Pentax 6X7 / 67 and an Astro-Physics field flattener?  Just wanted to know if it worked better than focusing on the groundglass or if it worked at all. Thanks Mike Connors
