Re: [APML] Observatory Progress

Hi Chris,

I haven't photographed the work set-by-step, but I did photograph the pier in late June or early July, before the start of the building itself. It'll probably be sometime next week before I get that roll developed, as I hope to have some more astro images to get developed after a dark site trip this weekend :o)

I'll either post a link to the pic or send it to you with it's dimensions. Unlike your Schmidt observatory, I'm in a light polluted site. It'll be largely a CCD observatory. Unseasonably hot temperatures, combined with attacks of acute laziness, have caused me to slip behind the original construction schedule by quite a bit <g>.

John, Id like to see a photo of your pier.  You can email it to me privately if you like.  Im hoping for the finish in the end of October, at the end of our monsoon.

Hi Chris,

Looks good!

It's been really interesting to follow your progress on this observatory project, especially since I've been s-l-o-w-l-y working on one also. I poured my pier in June, but still haven't put the walls up yet!!!

Oh well, it's good to see that someone's "somewhat" on schedule <g>.

Hi All,

Now that we are back from Australia, progress is continuing on the new observatory in Happy Jack in Central Arizona for my 8 inch schmidt camera.  We have just posted some new images of the work completed this weekend, your comments will be appreciated!
