The only chance of coming close to this would be a long/short TP mask
exposure; long for the faint outer fringes and short to get the bright core.
Then it still probably wouldn't be as good but nobody's tried it either that
I know of. Chuck should get out the RC for this one.  A deep Ha TP exposure
might also do it. Maybe 3-4 hours at f/7 around 3000mm FL :-)  But I think
everybody would say that CCD is easier, but then again read Tony's technical
specs. Lots of Flats, Darks, ect.
