Re: [APML] New Pics

Hey Tom, thanks for the great tip.  Looked at your site and they are much better than any of my LE400 to date.  How is the grain at higher resolutions?

Hi Steve,

I use Fuji Superia 800 Xtra.  All of my shots use this unhypered.

Subject: [APML] New Pics

Here's my latest 4 from the last new moon (M27, M16, IC1977 and the eastern Veil) on my 10" SCT.  Tried unhypered LE400 against everyone's better judgement and guess what I found out... the experts are right again!  Much less detail, poorer color balance (blue barely makes it at all - M33 and the pleides didn't show up enough to make much out at all), and got some strong green casts I didn't understand on the scans.  Boy do I miss that discontinued PMZ1000!  Any tips for unhypered film?!  I may go to E200 but don't like some of the limitations and color issues from what I've tried in the past.

I've uploaded the brighter objects that showed something and were still new and fun images to get.  Still learning to get the ST-4 to track consistently well.  I get it on one image and miss it on the next...  Didn't get 2 images of any one object to track well enough to have a good pair to stack either so I have to live with the grain as well.

Anyway, I think I learned a bit and had fun doing these.  Comments really appreciated as always.
