[APML] [OT[ Strange patterns in a slide

Hi all!
A friend of mine took an unguided short exposure of a portion of the sky. 
The picture itself is far from spectacular, but the scan he sent me shows 
strange patterns I really find difficult to blame some on some specific 
cause (bad development? film crippling? who knows...).
Is any of you astro-photo gurus out there willing to be sent the picture 
privately and help me shed some light on this puzzle?

It's a 200k jpeg so it should be no problem even for the slowest connection.
