Re: [APML] Monitor bright/contrast gamma...

I have found this page most useful:

http://www.photoscientia.co.uk/Gamma.htm

Bring up the Adobe Gamma utility and adjust it while
looking at the webpage reference.

I have a 21" Trinitron. It took a few iterations between the gamma
controls and the brightness/contrast controls. After all the adjustments
for a 2.2 gamma, I ended up with 63 for brightness and 96 for contrast.

Guys I'm still struggling with this, and have you noticed that Chuck's grayscale looks different on
everyone's sight who has cloned it?

Could someone get practical andin the ballpark with me? I have a standard tube Compaq monitor.
My zero brightness is far away from black, is that right? Contrast seems far more important in
setting the picture, with brightness as a sort of comfort fine-tune control? Of course the conditions
vary in day and night, but can anyone give me some feedback as to what their settings in a nice
dark room are?

I seem to go between 60-90% Contrastand 25-75% Brightness, and that's just crazy! Adobe
gamma doesn't help me, anyone know of a good website pattern or if I can reach a consensus from
you, I'll stick with it. I need a standard for processing!!

Thanks!

Warren
