I understand, and I did not mean to imply that you would want it optimized for visual. I am also not trying to downgrade what you have, only pointing out some things which need to be taken into account. I'm not quite convinced that the Airy disc is totally meaningless, maybe for long exposure film there is zero effect, but it may have a bigger effect when doing shorter exposure CCD imaging. Anyway, I have seen the difference myself in hi-res images, but perhaps someone who is more talented can extract better images with large obstructions.
