Recently I have been seeing light in a form similar to a crescent moon in my C14.

Possible sources are the corrector plate, shiny black anodized surface somwhere in the optical path. Take your eyeball and look up the tube without an eyepiece at a bright star. Move the star around. Do you see any source of light anywhere in the system other than the bright star itself? If the star's light is coming down one side of the tube, it can reflect off any shiny anodized surface 9eg. inside of a T-ring or other adapter). If the star is coming directly down the center of the tube, it cannot strike the walls anywhere and cause this kind of reflection. If you have any other optic near the focus, then you can have the star's light bouncing between surfaces (eg telecompressor with airspaced elements) and causing spurious reflections.

Take your eyball on a tour and LOOK.
