Jon,

    I used a different set of criteria to choose the secondary size, and that was how much of the negative I wanted illuminated at 100%. I built my scope for shooting only, and had Tom Scott use his genius to figure out the optics... I wanted 100% across a 35mm negative. I have to say that I am more than pleased with the final result... be aware that there are many other considerations to take into account besides the optical design... things like tube construction, baffle tubes, spyders, secondary holders, focusers, OAG's, etc etc etc everything has to work in unison to make it fly.
