I've been told that Spectra had some really unprofessional business
practices, he didn't treat his customers very well. It caught up with him,
with other competitors beating him out. He simply lost sales, and that was
that.

I had some experience with Pocono, that indicate to me the same thing.
Twice, I requested a followup on a not in stock item, & they never called me
back like they said they would. They didn't followup on an item I ordered,
which came with a dead battery..even though they said they would. I heard
the owner had some lavish spending habits, personal problems they call it.
The employees are supposedly starting up a new company, to take its place.

Scott never had a good relationship with Spectra, and now this. I wonder if
Losmandy is going to quit the business, with dealers who behave like
this..two bankruptcies with money owed him.

I'm hearing some complaints about Herb York on sci.astro.amateur.. You
really have to wonder about his presence on this list and s.a.a., it sounds
like he's using it to advertise his company. Doesn't this list have a rule
against members using it for business purposes? I've never heard this guy
say anything technical about astrophotography. If you do a search on Herb
York on www.deja.com, you can pickup a trail of complaints.

Spectra, Pocono... If I were buying, I'd use a CC so I'd be covered in
case of a sleazy vendor. I hate to say it, but I think I'm noticing a
disturbing trend. I'd stay away from Herb York as well.
