Great News!
I have the repair manual for the Pentax 67 which shows an exploded view of 
the bottom but you can't really tell if drilling the alignment hole would 
damage the circuit board(s). From your description, it sounds like that's not 
a problem.

Yes, I would live to see some images of the open bottom.
