Hi Tony;
In a strange way, that might be the one compelling reason to
develop your own E6. Every time a local photo lab goes belly up, I try to
haunt the local baliffs auctions, etc, to see if there is any gear worth
buying. 99.9% of the time the used darkroom and processing equipment is
simply filthy, dried chemitry and other stuff all over everything.
I think the pressures on photo labs to be compeditive with
Wal-Mart and Costo means chemistry is pushed past exhaustion, and equipment
is never properly cleaned and servied, just run into the ground. There are
labs that take pride in their developing, but IMO, they are the exception,
and worth supporting when you find one.
