C41 has only a colour developer wich you can not change with a BW dev
unless you want to have a BW image from a colour neg.
Time ago, speaking to professional reporters i have learned that many
of them during some photographic sessions abroad on battle field or
in africa, they were pèrocessing all their slides film in the first dev
only, and than months after continuing the process with unaltered 
results.
