The sensor is the small cylindrical object on the top of the light. You
may have to look at it during the day light hours to see it as it is
often shielded by the glare of the light at night. The actual
sensor's eye is usually located on the north side of the sensor (in the
northern hemisphere), so you need access to the north side of the light
to have any effect.
I always assumed that painting the eye with a laser would keep the light
off continuously. Is this not the case? I've been considering this but
would hate to purchase a laser only to find it ineffective. Where is a
good source for a cheap laser in the 10 mW range. Are laser pointers
powerful enough?
Of course it would be tragic if a few on/off cycles effectively
eliminated the problem. Good neighbor policy being observed by both
parties and all.......
