Re: [APML]: Galaxies,Color Film and Single Negative Processing

I took alot of prime focus galaxy shots this last weekend (10/12) I just
received my prints back from the processor and was disappointed with the
results. In particular I took 2 shots of M74 (the film is Fuji800G that was
pushed to 1600) of 70M and 100M. The 100M shot had more density, but not a
significant amount. I can't see where an exposure of say 120M would get too
much more than what I captured already. My scope is 10" and I shoot at f6.9.
M74 is a relatively bright galaxy, and my question to the list is: Can you
get decent galaxy shots with color films that you take to a commercial photo
processor? Or am I at the limits of what I can get out of Fuji film, or any
color film?
Thanks,
