  Many thanks to all of you who wrote me public & private abotu losmandy 
mounts.

    I spent some $$ on LD calls the past couple days, and finally 
purchased the mount in question.

  Maybe some of you might have seen this mount at a star party or 
something.  Anyhow, it does have a Byers gear drive on the RA.

  The story of this mount, from what I have been able to find out, is 
that it was built by Scott Losmandy himself  - oh myabe 7 years ago - as 
a custom order.  The electrics are not setup for CCD autoguiding, but I 
was not looking for that.  Yes - that soudns strange, but a lot of my 
piggy back work is no more than 15 - 20 min at a time, so right now I am 
happy with what I have got.

  The mount itself sounds rather solid.  In additon to the Byers gear, 
which was installed buy Mr. Losmandy himslef, the mount has full lenght 
bearings through both axis shafts.  

   Anyhow, cheque is in the mail as they say, and I will let you all know 
what it is like when I recieve it.
