Can't I just click on 'levels'? And did you mean Ctrl-L?

I've seen the eyedropper before, but was always too scared that I would
really screw something up. I assume you mean that I should click in
several different areas of the image, between the stars.

I hope it does. I'll try it in the morning, or the next time I can put
in some computer time. Sometimes I amaze even me with how little I know
about computers and software.
