Re: [APML] Wide field eclipse

Thanks Chris !

Me and Jeff , who have a 12½" Dobson , have made observation of deep sky objects during the eclipse , we saw NGC891 , M33 ... it's a very nice feeling to be able to observe these objects at full moon !

Clear skies !

Dom :)

Hi Dom -

I always like your 16mm shots. There's a big difference in sky darkness
between pre eclipse and totality.

My skies here at home are dark enough where I enjoyed watching the Milky Way
and M31 pop out as the eclipse progressed and then disappeared again after
the end of the eclipse. I think this is one of the best things about
watching a total lunar eclipse, you just have to be under a moderately dark
sky.

I too have had pretty good luck around here, I did get pooned for the May
2003 eclipse but had clear weather for the Nov 2003 eclipse, the Venus
Transit and now this latest eclipse. Pretty good sats for New
England.......Plus I've been able to nab quite a few auroras too.. maybe I
brought the CA weather with me when I moved. ;-')
