RE: [APML] old film

Tri-X was a staple and I used it almost exclusively from the early '70s
until about '95 when my darkroom was destroyed in a flood. I was
downloading some info sheets from the Kodak site last night, and Tri-X is
celebrating its 50th anniversary. Std development (for me) was HC110
developer, dilution B, 68 degrees, 7-1/2 minutes. Adjust +/- 1/2 minute for
more/less contrast.

The only problem you might have is fogging if it is very out-of-date. I've
used it up to five years beyond expiration when NOT stored properly with OK
results, but beyond that it gets dense. If refrigerated, you could probably
get more years out of it.

Michael--

Years ago I used to shoot with Plus-X (125 PX) and Tri-X (400 TX). These
were state-of-the-art B&W films when I was a yearbook photographer in high
school 25 years ago! They pre-date the Kodak T-emulsion films. Plus-X was a
staple; Tri-X was only used in low-light situations (400 was very fast film
back then) like night football games.

Plus-X and Tri-X would be considered very grainy compared to today's
T-emulsions. I can't vouch for red sensitivity as I didn't do much
astrophotography with them.

Clear skies,
Andy

My local photoshop has on his wall display a few boxes of film. They
have a layer of dust on them so I'll assume they are a not the newest.

I don't know a thing about these. any help with what they are good for
would be appreciated.
*Kodak Tmax 100 pro
*Kodak 125 PX pro
*Kodak 400 TX pro
*Kodak Ektachrome 160T
He also has
*Elite Chrome 200 - (I'll grab a couple three boxes)
*Kodak Royal Gold - and I'll grab some of these as well.
