Hi Kevin,

I think you're right - since the moon is a broadband object, just about any 
decent film should give a good result.  But I would try to aim towards a 
finer grained film if possible.  Amongst slide films I think that E200 
would give an excellent result, as would Provia 400 (still a remarkably 
fine grained film).  Amongst colour neg films I would go for any of the 
standard 200 or 400 ASA consumer films - they should all work well.  The 
only one I would definitely avoid is Kodak Portra - they have destroyed the 
red response to such an extent that it may not even pick up the reddish hue 
of the moon properly.  I can't comment on Kodak High Definition 200.
