RE: [APML] To mount, or not (slide film)

Alan, I wont rethrash the good points others have made, but Ill add that
youll get a better scan from a mounted slide than a carrier. My carrier
from my Nikon crapscan 2000 wont hold the strips flat because they cant
sqeeze the emulsion as tight as a Pakon slide mount from Adorama. The
flatter you can hold the original, the better the center to corner focus
will be.

Hey all,

Bill sent this reply to a question I asked a couple weeks ago in a
different thread.

The E200 in question is curently at the lab, and I requested that it
simply be developed, and not cut. However, I see my scanner (SS4000)has
a holder that mounted slides will fit into. Should I go ahead and have
the mounting done? Why, or why not?

Thanks,
Alan
