I agree with Kent. I have never used the mounted
slide adapter for my scanner...prefer the negative carrier.
Alan: First, the reason for asking the lab to not cut the film is that it is often difficult to see the frame lines in astrophotos and the lab might cut them in the wrong place. It's better to leave them uncut or cut them yourself. Then you have nobody to blame but yourself. If you intend to project the images, them mounting them in slide mounts is a good idea (duh?) If you don't intend to project them, then leaving them in 5-7 frame strips and putting them in a Print File or similiar binder page will keep them safe and flat. If your scanner accepts film in strips then there is really no reason to mount them. Labs usually charge a fee for mounting a roll of slides. It's not all that much but not mounting them saves the cost. Kent Kirkley
