Re: [APML] OT: DSS image processed: Barnard 142/143 Complex("E"Nebula)

Yes. We encourage all the user to read the documentation first. Not only there are new processes, like SCNR or Wavelets, the old ones like Curves or Histograms are much more powerfull here, and needs some previous explanations. Also the interfase is very uncommon for us, but one you get familiar with it, it becomes very simple to use... and you are gonna hate the other software's limitations (for example, you can open several process' windows at the same time... they are independent of any image, in fact you can open those windows without any image loaded, and play with them [change the paramethers, create process icons, etc])
>For me using it is not an intuitive leap from using Photoshop.
Yes, we know that. And that's the reason why the feedback is so important for us. Please let you all us to know the flaws in the documentation, and any suggestions you want to make. You can make this software to improve for our astrophotographical needs.

I would say that it is a F14 instead of a Jumbo ;-)
PixInsight requires some training, but once you handle it, you can do much more things that you used to do, and easier/faster. It isn't just a software for hard work... you can use it for all your simpliest needs.

I have read it, thanks. As I said to you, the problem is in the threshold paramether, you have to adjust it (fine-tune). I'm sending to you a suggested process.

It's a pleasure. We are very happy to be in PixInsight's development team, and we just wish you to try it and get all the benefits from our work. We are having a lot of fun!
