RE: [APML] color settings

Hi Alan,

I'm not very experienced with this stuff, but I have adjusted it recently for my monitor at home so I may be able to help a little bit.

If I remember correctly, color management for RGB should be turned on. I've thought about changing my monitor to 6500K but most monitors are set at 9300 so I just leave it at default. I honestly don't think it makes a difference in adjusting the colors of a photo, since you can set the black point off the background by adjusting R, G, and B levels separately.

Also, when you are done editing a photo and are ready to upload it for display on the web, the web standard is sRGB so to keep the colors proper, you'll want to make sure to convert it to that color space.

As for refresh rates....typically the higher the refresh rate the easier it is on your eyes.

Have you done the Adobe Gamma monitor calibration? Should be accessible in Control Panel.

Hope this helps,
Jason

Subject: [APML] color settings

I am trying to get all the kinks out of my system, and there are a few.
I can use some help with the color settings in PS7. Currently they are:

Settings: CUSTOM

Working spaces:

    RGB: Adobe RGB (1998)
CMYK: US Web Coated (SWOP) v2
    Gray: Gray Gamma 2.2
    Spot: Dot gain 20%

Color management policies:

    RGB: off
    CMYK: off
    Gray: off

Is there anything I should change?

I did find my monitor set to the higher temp setting, 9300k, and
changed it to 6500. I also wonder about the 'refresh rates'. Any advice
here?

Thanks,
Alan
