[APML] OT: "Dust meets light" or "Not so dark nebula"
Hi folks,
as Juan said yesterday, I've processed another beautiful
field of the POSSII. This time is the B142/143 complex.
For this image, I've applied various processing steps to
enhance large scale structures that are hidden below
the star field.
You can view the original RGB combined imagem with
a simple curves transform here:
http://www.pleiades-astrophoto.com/pixinsight/examples/B142_RGB.jpg
BUT, if you delete ALL the stars (and, by extension, all the small
scale structures in teh image), you get this:

Once you have this image, you can manipulate the data
and mould the hidden objects as you want, without any
interference due to small scale structures.
Also, this processing enhances the two reflexion nebulas (blue and white ones).
And the image adquires a lot of movement and depth.
Comments wellcome,
Vicent.
