RE: [APML] New Images Posted
Sweet!!!
Geez Jon, what you lack in quantity you certainly make up for in
quality! What a great collection of images, including some
off-the-beaten-track stuff that I always like so much. Great composition,
great processing - you must be insufferably pleased with this batch! (I
would be!) Love that big format stuff.
Sh2-129... Yup, been there, done that but not in colour. My tech pan
image is at http://www.astrofoto.ca/john/sh2-129.htm but the reflection
nebula is pretty much toasted by the W92 filter. You did well on this, it's
not an easy target for unfiltered colour film work!
The Heart of Cygnus - great shot! I was just wondering though,
technically, isn't it the Arse of Cygnus?? If Deneb marks the tail... :) It
also looks like you are doing wide field survey shots to find some of my
targets! On the IC1848 shot you are correct - there is a nebula between that
and VdB14/15. I don't believe that I have ever seen a colour image of
Sh2-202 before! I wouldn't mind seeing a cropped version of this area if you
have a chance to do so. If you Google Sh2-202 and look at the images it
brings up, there is only one. http://www.astrofoto.ca/john/sh2-202.htm
Welcome to the club! The star cluster near the top of the nebula is Stock
23. This is one of the faintest nebula I have ever shot, I thought it was
exclusively in the domain of Schmidts and narrow band CCD. Colorado skies
and E200 look like a great combination.
Great stuff Jon, thanks for sharing. No inveterate tinkering
necessary!

Finally some new material! I hadn't been out since February, and that trip
was a bust, so at long last here are a few new film images, taken during
adventures in three states.
