RE: [APML] street light spectra

There's a photo/chart of the various spectra at
	http://jchemed.chem.wisc.edu/Journal/Issues/1997/Sep/abs1070.html,

What variety of 'detailed' are you looking for? Peaks? Continuous
quantitative spectral plots? ...

Hi Jose,

I have a reference (Handbook of Optics) showing spectral energy distribution
for different types of lamps. For example, for a clear mercury-arc lamp,
the plot looks like it has peaks near 360 nm, 400 nm (violet), 440nm
(blue-violet), 550 (green), and 575 (yellow). I also have a figure showing
spectral lines for spectral lamps which include sodium and mercury. I am
not sure if street lights count as "spectral lamps", but it may get you
started. Sodium is sodium if you ask me. If you are interested, send me an
email and I can scan off the pages and send them to you.

Thank you Don, but it is not as easy as you might think to find the =
data.
Before sending my post I=B4ve spent some time surfing in "darksky" webs =
and lamp manufacturers sites
with no result. I=B4ve only found some general comments on which parts =
of the
spectrum are more affected with the different type of lamps, but I am =
looking for a much
more detailed information.

Jose

I am looking for detailed spectra of commercial lamps employed=20
in street lights: mercury vapor and sodium vapor (low & high =
pressure).
Does anybody know any internet sources regarding this subject ?
