[APML] OT: Southern CA smoke

I talked with family in southern CA today and they said the smoke was so
bad, visibility was at 1/4mi.  With ash coating the ground like dry snow.
Having seen the horrible Laguna Beach fire back in 1993, this is a extremely
serious situation.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the many people that have already lost
their homes to the fires.
