Re: [APML] Exposure Times

Hi Steve:
I haven't been doing too much film lately, just star trails. But my
experience with Provia F (both tracked objects earlier and star trails
lately) says it will take as much as you can give it without the light
pollution fogging it up. In my area, 60 to 90 minutes works well and I stack
more frames for dimmer things. I ran a 3 hour star trail shot at f/8 the
other night with it and although the background was beginning to fog up, the
star colors were very nice! The 3 targets you mentioned are all on the dim
side, so I would try 2 or 3 one hour exposures on each if your light
pollution will allow it.
