         I highly second that option. I selll StellarVue, Orion &
SkyWatcher, so I ahve had all three scopes here, and although the AT1010 is
much more money (even on it's sale price right now), you will find it a
much better scope for imaing over any Short tube 80 for the following reaons:
         1) the F6 vs F5 means slightly better coloru correciton -
although, I woudl still look at a MV filter of some sort;
         2) the focuser is 2" as opposed to 1.25", and the drawtube is a
lot longer, and finally, it is much smoother too, so easier to focus with;
         3) the otpics are better - i do nto mean colour correciton,b ut
the overall starfield is a bit flatter, and your stars will be a bit more
pinpoint with or without any filter.

         It si a lot more money than a short tube 80, and the other
drawback is it weights about twice as much (the AT1010 is built like a
brick outhouse, as the saying goes :), also, from a dealer point of view, I
make more profit on the shrot tube 80's than I do StellarVues, but all that
taken into account, i woudl go the AT1010 route if you can afford it at
all. In the long run, you'll be happier.
