Re: [APML] At last - Full 16 bit operations in PhotoShop

Images Plus by Mike Unsold has precise and accurate routines for registiring
large groups of files, plus it has extensive processing functions (noise
removal, curves, sharpening, deconvolution, etc etc). It is a very powerful
program that can be ordered with some very helpful video tutorials. It can
handle large files and does every calculation at 16bit or higher.

I have not yet used it for film images, but it does a great job with CCD and
digital camera image, 20Mb files in size. I am sure that it can align your
high density scans from film.

The one area in which it MAY lack is the superb fashion by which Rajiv's
Registar program can align film images that are from scans of warped or
tilted film, or from several different focal lengths. I think Images Plus
can do the second, but you will have to email Mike for info on the first.

Check out the Images Plus website and send Mike an email. He is very
friendly and helpful. He is constantly adding new features to the software
to meet the requests of users worldwide.

I really really like Registar, but since I am doing less and less film
photography, I have gravitated over to using Images Plus, with good results.

cheers

Derek
