        Its is my understanding that the EQ-6 mount manufactured in China is not meant for Astro-photography in one instance I had heard that the mount has over 20 arc seconds in periodic error and that the RA gear was rough. Instead of taking the mount apart and rebuilding it and assuming your funds are limited. You might do better just to buy a 10 inch gear with some decent bearings and assemble your own. Hope you have access to a machine shop. The only other alternative is to buy a Losmandy G11 mount and work with that. From there the prices and the waiting might not suit you.
