OT: Inkjet print durability (was RE: [APML] OT: Printer question)

Another printer question:

Is it possible with Inkjet printers to get a print
that is not completely ruined if you get water on it?
I can take a regular print and douse it, and so long
as I dry it off right away it's fine, but with inkjet
prints even a small drop just wrecks it.

I've been considering Kodak's dye-sub printer for this
reason, but it's a bit pricy.
