Re: [APML] Films test

Hi Carlos !

Thanks for the warning :) I have 15 rolls of old supra 400 in fridg. but one day I'll have to buy other films for astrophoto. By the ricochet of the "Rho shot" topic I saw that Wei-Hao Wang used the konica centuria super 400 for this shot http://www.ifa.hawaii.edu/~wang/gallery/picutres/cygnus_tail.htm

all the images on his gallery http://www.ifa.hawaii.edu/~wang/gallery/gallery.html are beautiful !!!

I shoot only wide field , I'm not sure that I'm concern about the chromatic aberration.

Clear skies !

Hi Dominic

Yes, the Centuria 400 indeed is a good film, BUT, i think that the "old" Centuria 400 is a better choise. The new one says "new" in the box. The old one had a very good red sensibility (comparable to E200), but their chromatic balance was to much "reddish". The new one, as always, hasn't that very good reds, but still good. The blues and greens are better, but IMHO, the blue far end is to much violet... if you have chromatic aberration this is not the film for you.
