Re: [APML] TP woes and questions

Tony,

I think I may have done the ultimate test on this. You may have missed
it. On my IC5068 which I finished in August this year I used a roll of
TP I hypered on Oct. 5, 2001. I hypered some more rolls and I took a
second red exposure with the new film. I could not see any difference
between the two frames in base fog, sky fog or what was recorded. I
must admit I was surprised. I have a second roll of that 2 year old
film that I'll probably use. All this stuff about cosmic rays fogging
the film isn't true. If it was true you'd start seeing it
immediately. One or two month old TP would be degraded and it is not.
I'm sure there's some limit how long you can store hypered TP in the
freezer but I don't know what it is.

In regards to Lumicon film.... I bought hypered TP from them on a
regular basis for 10 years. I never had over hypered film. The opposite
was the problem. Sometimes it wasn't hypered at all. I tested every
roll I got from them before I used it in the field. I learned the hard
way. It was rare to get TP from them that was more than 0.3 above base.
