RE: [APML] The frustrations of a half-exposed film
All who responded....
OK., thanks, you're right - it's off to the developers tomorrow! I'll
shoot the rest of the film on anything I can find around the house
first.
The f-stop is governed by the Genesis SDF, and I've varied the exposures
between 30min and 60min. For focus I use a magnifying eyepiece onto the
focussing screen. I watched the ST4 most of the time, and I recorded a
log of the corrections so I can check on the mount. The vast majority of
the corrections were <1" (guiding at 1250mm, imaging at 540mm). My
concern is whether there's any differential flexure from using a
separate guidescope. I'll let you know... :-)

Develop it!
Seriously, you've already hit the nail on the head with the comments
about what you don't know all because you haven't developed the film.
In fact, you may not know a lot of other things that developing the
film would reveal: do you know if you got the f/stops and exposure
times correct for your location (sky fog limit)? do you you know if
you got the focus right?
Covington has a few remarks about this kind of false-economy in his
book. It was the best thing I ever read. Yeah, the people behind the
counter thought it was odd when I told them the roll only had one
exposure on it. I got over the embarrassment and they know me now.
