Re: [APML] OT: PPF 120 for Sale

Hi again Jon:

Wasen't that 60 hour shot of North American Nebula phenomenal!!?? I
stand amazed at the work some of these characters, such as you, do in
this field!

I guess you got my last email indicating I'd be happy to get 5 or 10
rolls of the ppf size 120 if you haven't disposed of all of it by now.

We are having a most interesting winter, dominated with strong
southernly flow and almost constant chinook conditions that have brought
extremely hot weather into our area for a long time. Just returned from
a drive over to Anchorage and found more than half the route completelhy
snow free!! The streets have been wet almost every day. This is
incredible, as normally temps run around zero to 20 below zero this time
of year.

We've had spectacular aurora according to the Geophysical Institute's
radar, but its been cloudy mostly. I got in a few shots, however, but so
far undeveloped.

I'm wanting to put in a proposal to get a couple nights on the Palamar
200 inch, just to fulfill a lifetime ambition. Its underused and
undersubscribed, being old fashioned and fairly light polluted. Can you
think of a possible research problem? We could put in the prooposal on a
joint basis. Woulden't that be a fun project?

Well, on Nov 20th I'm heading to Argentina for some spring weather and
to see the iceburgs. Then we stop in Arizona, then go to San Francisco
for a week. No plans for astrophotography, except maybe in new moon
around the rock show in Tucson in February, or possibly around new moon
in April.

I've more or less decided to retire and go out and have some fun. We are
now thinking of buying a house in tucson, probably in between Benson and
Tucson to be close to some dark skies. We are toying with idea of
purchasing something in Sonoita, but its awfully cut off from the
university, where I expect to have an affiliation and continue doing
research on aerosols.

How are things going with you, especially with the boat-building project?

all best regards,

glenn
